art of solo

Tommy Flannaghan

Okay he is not the most famous old stager as a leader, he best work was supporting Ella and of course John Coltrane first albumn. Yes, coltrane is playing fast, but tommy is play so cool it hurts.

I think he is one of the best soloists, with monk. definitely underated.

listen to Tommy's solo. I heard an interview where he was saying" he thought Coltrane sounded great, but he was okay".
